Katie is off at work, but she had a great idea for a show theme: the Irish bouzouki as an accompaniment instrument. Most of the music you’ll hear on this episode has a bouzouki buried in the mix somewhere–just listen for the soothing jangle. Musically, we take a lazy trip around the world, visiting Scotland, Ireland, Galicia,, Hungary, and the U.S.We have a mind-boggling new release from the Friel Sisters, a group of young women from Scotland and County Donegal. Their album, “Before the Sun” has only been out a few weeks, but it’s getting a lot of notice. We still enjoying the new releases from Caitlin Nic Gabhann and John and Maggie Carty. Besides the new releases, we play a mix featuring Dervish, Cathie Ryan, Niamh Parsons, and Susana Seivane
