Show 291 – Samhain Special
(2023-10-21)

posted in: Past Shows

This time of year brings an abundance of trad Celtic music featuring stories and tunes of the spirit world. Samhain is a transitional time, where Autumn has a firm grip on the liminal boundary between Summer and Winter. According to Celtic legend, this is the time of year when the veil between our world and the spirit realm grows thin and allows the passage from one plane to the other. Katie Marie and Joe put together a spine-tingling hour of Celtic music celebrating Samhain.

The artists this week: Trouble in the Kitchen, Janice Burns & Jon Doran, Karine Polwart, Danny Carnahan with Robin Petrie, Milladoiro, Emer Mayock, Malinky, Harem Scarem, John Tose, The Unprepared, English Acoustic Collective, and Téada.
