March 1st is the feast day of St. David, the patron saint of Wales, so Katie Marie and Joe put together an hour of Welsh traditional and contemporary music. Wales is home to massive, soaring choirs and unique instruments that seem direct descendants of pre-Christian music. Influenced by English folk music to the east, Irish trad music to the west, and a linguistic bond to Brittany, Wales is home to unique folk and Celtic music.
The Welsh artists this week: Calan, Gwerinos, Olion Byw, Ar Log, Mynediad Am Ddim, Carreg Lafar, Hwntws, Estron, Cerys Matthews, Pigyn Clust, Saith Rhyfeddod, Cerys Hafana, Ghazalaw, John Tose, 4 Yn Y Bar, and Fernhill.
The FairPlé score for this week: 56
