Show 343 – Samhain
(2024-10-19)

This time of year brings an abundance of trad Celtic music featuring stories and tunes about the spirit world. Samhain is a transitional time where fairies, ghosts, and monsters stir and come forth into our world. According to Celtic legend, this is the time of year when the veil between our world and the spirit realm grows thin and allows the passage from one world to the other. Katie Marie and Joe put together a spine-tingling hour of Celtic music celebrating Samhain.

Our selection of spooky artists this week: Preston Howard Wilde; NUA; Danny Carnahan with Robin Petrie; Christina Stewart; Le Vent du Nord; Janice Burns & Jon Doran; Denis Murphy & Julia Clifford; Stray Hens; Malinky; Zoë Conway, Dónal Lunny, & Máirtín O’Connor; Goodwin and Gray; Milladoiro; and Trouble in the Kitchen.
