Show 370 – May Day
(2025-04-26)

posted in: Past Shows

May Day refers to two holidays: The first one is the traditional start of Summer, and the other is the date of the International Workers’ Day. Katie Marie and Joe, who both held union jobs in prior careers, put together an hour of trad Celtic music focusing on the latter, honoring those whose skills, sweat, muscles, and blood gave us protections from unscrupulous management, job benefits, five day workweeks, and the eight hour workday.

The artists this week: The House Devils; John Doyle; The Bonny Men; Mary Beth Carty; Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh; The House Band; FourWinds; Eoin Duignan; Conor Lamb, Brendan Mulholland & Deirdre Galway; Guichen; and Solas.

Our FairPlé score this week: 15
