August 1st marks the Celtic seasonal festival of Lughnasa, marking the beginning of the harvest season. A tall, young, handsome warrior of the Tuatha De Danann, Lugh was the god of justice, war, craftsmen…and harvests. Lughnasa lands at the halfway point between the summer solstice and the autumnal equinox, celebrates the first harvest, and serves as a reminder that Summer is soon ending. Katie Marie and Joe put together an hour of traditional Celtic music celebrating Lughnasa, summer, and the harvest.
