It’s a beautiful time of year, so ready the scythes, sickles, and flails, because it’s Lughnasa, the Celtic holiday on August 1st celebrating the official start to the harvest. An understandably important festival throughout the Celtic world, Lughnasa is called “Luanistyn” in the Isle of Mann, “Calan Awst” in Wales and “Gouel Eost” in Brittany.
